We have two terrific speakers who are going to share insights on some of their most innovative and resilient engineering projects!

Amy Nagengast PhD, PE, LEED AP – Energy Program Manager at SFO
Amy is the first Energy Manager at the San Francisco International Airport where she works on a breadth of building and transportation projects spanning facilities, policy and engineering. Previously in the private sector, Amy was a leader in the design and installation of heat pump water heater electrification retrofits of large multifamily buildings across California. Additionally, she has developed energy master plans, climate action plans and indoor environmental quality studies for a wide variety of clients to inform strategic decision making. Amy is a licensed Professional Engineer and has a bachelors, masters and PhD in engineering from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and Carnegie Mellon University respectively. |

Hindsight Is 2020: Delivering Zero Net Energy Projects in the Wake of COVID at SFO COVID-19 has brought a severe decline in airline passenger traffic and airport revenues requiring energy initiatives to adapt and respond to a new paradigm of resiliency and recovery. Learn from an owner about its’ evolving approach to advancing and executing on its zero net energy initiatives through SFO’s comprehensive Energy Benchmarking Study results amidst the backdrop of an unprecedented year. |

Erica Levine, CEM, LEED AP BD+C – Senior Energy Consultant, ARUP
As a senior energy consultant with Arup San Francisco, Erica delivers energy projects at all scales, from design of zero-net energy (ZNE) buildings to energy reduction across a global retailer’s 6,000 stores, and everything in between. Driven to reduce human impact on the environment, Erica combines environmental policy and engineering expertise to craft innovative solutions that provide value for occupants, owners, and the world. Her current interests include leveraging digital technology for low-carbon solutions and campus-scale ZNE. In addition to project work, Erica actively promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Arup and managed learning, research, and knowledge sharing for Arup’s global network of 1,500 mechanical engineers. Outside of Arup, Erica has held leadership roles with CREW SF, presented at numerous conferences in the US and internationally, and taught classes for university students and practitioners. |
